How to make chicken with red wine

Chicken With Red wine





 


Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 sprig of fresh thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour 

Instructions:

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  4. Pour in the red wine and scrape the bottom of the pan to release any browned bits.
  5. Add the chicken broth, thyme, and bay leaf to the pan. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. Add the chicken breasts back to the pan and cover.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and let the chicken simmer for about 15 minutes, or until cooked through.
  8. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
  9. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  10. Slowly pour in the sauce from the pan, whisking constantly until thickened.
  11. Serve the chicken with the sauce on top.
