Ginger Rice with Spices and Lemon Chilli Sauce easy recipe


Ginger Rice with Spices and Lemon Chilli Sauce. 






Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of white rice
  • 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

For the Lemon Chilli Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt



Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
  1. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the grated ginger and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  1. Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and sauté for another minute.
  1. Add the rice to the pan and stir to coat the rice with the spices.
  1. Add the water to the pan and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Cook the rice for 18-20 minutes or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked through.
  1. While the rice is cooking, prepare the lemon chilli sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the lemon juice, chilli sauce, sugar and salt.
  1. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and transfer it to a serving dish.
  1. Serve the rice with the lemon chilli sauce on the side. Enjoy!
